ABOUT Red Square Theatre
Founded in 2009, Red Square Theatre creates engaging original works alongside reimagined classics. Inspiration is drawn from the highly skilled and time honored techniques of the Russian theatre tradition, as well as a focus on the fundamentals of story telling.
Clover was Red Square Theatre's inaugural production, presented at the 2009 Philly Fringe Festival (reviews). For their second production, The Swedish Match, the company created an original script based on Anton Chekhov's short story of the same name. It opened May 6 of 2010 at The Mascher Space Co-op in Fishtown.
Their third production, another original script, was conceived and written by company member Bella Saltzer. Lunch Lady Tarot delighted audiences at the 2010 Philadelphia Fringe Festival as Lunch Lady, and her boyfriend Frank, took the audience through a group Tarot reading, which inevitably led to the telling of Lunch Lady's wonderfully colorful life story.
