Looking ahead with RST
2011 was another fun and successful year for Red Square Theatre. April of 2011 hosted RST's 2nd Annual Skiffle - our most successful fundraiser ever!!!! Thru May and June, RST taught an acting class at The Independence Art Studio in Center City, where they also rehearsed for their fringe production, Hughie. September saw RST return to their comfy space above the London Grill to perform Hughie by Eugene O'Neill.
2012 is here and RST is hard at work banging their collective heads together, formulating ideas for their next production. Please check back soon for updates. Or, is there something you would like to see RST perform? Feel free to contact us and let us know!
Sincerely,
Red Square Theatre

Hughie is a hit!
Audiences were amazed by Red Square's inventive staging of O'Neill's rarely performed classic. Christopher M. Bohan, the director, decided to include O'Neill's stage directions in the dialogue and cast himself and RST company member, Bella Saltzer, as the narrators. Company members Mark W. Robson (Erie Smith) and Adam Rzepka (Charlie) played O'Neil's hapless loaners with remarkable passion and gave transcendent performances. One audience member - upon leaving the theatre - stated, "This is the best fringe performance I have seen this year!" Many other audience members demanded we remount the production outside of the fringe so more people have an opportunity to experience this unique and thrilling production.
Hughie was performed at the London Grill in Philadelphia's Fairmount District during the 2011 Philadelphia Fringe Festival.
